Architecture

Mxi uses modern technology platforms that meet the standards and expectations of forward-looking organizations. To meet the goals of scalability and platform independence, Maintenix® has been built as an "n-tier" system compliant to the Java Enterprise Edition (JEE) specification.

The Maintenix multi-tiered system is made up of these tiers:

User Interface (UI)

The UI tier of Maintenix is made up of all of the components through which user interaction takes place. This end-user interaction is role-based, and takes place through "thin client" Web browser components.

Business Logic

The "n-tier" architecture provides for a separate business logic "layer" that is used for both user transactions and integration with external systems. This separation allows for better performance and scalability.

Database

The final tier is a relational database for both the day-to-day transactional data and for the long-term storage of warehoused data.
