Hostable Application

Due to the advanced web-based "n-tier" architecture of the Maintenix® software system, it lends itself to flexible software delivery options. In addition to the traditional model where the system is installed and set up at a customer's site, Maintenix can also be made available through a third-party Application Service Provider (ASP) delivery model. Under the ASP model, the application is installed on a central server hosted by a provider of our customer's choice (subject to qualification of the provider by Mxi). The customer then accesses their hosted Maintenix software and associated data through a Web browser interface.

Benefits of ASP Hostable Solutions

The decision to implement a new software system requires considerable support across the user organization, as well as a significant commitment of time and money for hardware infrastructure setup and software installation. Because the Maintenix software has been architected as an n-tier hostable solution, many of these hurdles can be removed, allowing customers to realize the business benefits of the Maintenix solution sooner. Third-party ASP hosting of Maintenix provides numerous benefits to our customers:

  • Lower total cost of ownership and lower capital costs, making the software more affordable for all customers, including mid-sized airlines and aircraft operators
  • Reduced (or eliminated) infrastructure requirements such as computer hardware, network, and application administration tasks, etc.
  • Freedom of customers to concentrate on core competencies, rather than on the administration of their aviation software systems
  • Ability for third-party MROs or OEMs to provide their customers with access to Maintenix to view their data and monitor work in progress on their aircraft or engines
  • Integrated data, with the ability to interface Maintenix to various other systems that may be available through the host provider, such as gate information systems, flight scheduling systems, aircraft technical manuals, and more
  • Seamless access to the Maintenix application by all remote users and geographically distributed locations
  • Ability to upgrade the Maintenix software (and hence the services available through the ASP) "on the fly" without downtime

The availability of sophisticated aviation software applications, such as Maintenix, via ASP makes these tools available on an as-needed basis in all required locations, in addition to making the applications more affordable, highly reliable, and easy to manage.

Maintenix® as a Hosted Application

Application Hosting is a service whereby a commercially available application such as Maintenix is deployed, hosted, managed, and supported by an outside company from a central facility. Customers then buy access to the application and connect to it - and to their corporate data - over an intranet, extranet or the Internet.

In particular, once the customer has selected a hosting provider, Mxi can deliver our Maintenix aviation maintenance software suite using the following ASP model:

  • The Maintenix application is hosted and administrated at a central facility by a hosting provider of the customer's choice (pending qualification by Mxi of the provider's technology and capabilities).
  • Users at Maintenix customer sites access the product through a web browser.
  • Customers may choose to use a proprietary intranet/extranet or a secure Internet connection for delivery of the application; either way, their data is secure and can only be viewed by authorized users.

This approach provides customers with all the advantages of Maintenix without the risks often associated with large software projects, and removes the need for customers to provide computer infrastructure and support personnel.

Hostable Application

The Maintenix Advantage

Highlights

As a hostable application, the Maintenix® software is designed such that it can be hosted and managed by a third-party service provider at a central facility. Customers then buy access to Maintenix and use it over a secure intranet or web connection. This approach offers many substantial benefits to software customers:

  • A reduction in the total cost of application software ownership
  • Rapid implementation
  • Minimization of risk
  • Freedom to concentrate on core competencies, rather than system administration
